What are academic difficulties?
Academic concerns can include learning difficulties or disability and also cover areas such as underachievement or bullying. It is important to get help and advice in order to work through these issues and get the best out of your degree at the University of Glasgow.
Steps for support
- Visit the Learning Enhancement and Academic Development Service (LEADS) and take part in the academic writing skills programme or book an appointment to get advice.
- See the Careers Service which is available to all students with a team of advisors and has its own resource centre
- If you are struggling with learning difficulties or a disability, speak to the University's Disability Service for help and advice
- If mental health issues are affecting your academic life, talk to the University's Counselling & Psychological Services for help and support - studentcounselling@glasgow.ac.uk
- If you would like to know more about making an academic appeal which is a request for a review of a decision of an academic body charged with making judgements concerning student progression, assessment or awards, visit the Academic Appeals webpage
